Etymology: Glossanodon: Greek, glossa = tongue + Greek, anodos = without teeth (Ref. 45335); mildredae: Named for Mildred H. Carrington whose tasteful and accurate drawings have contributed greatly to the progress of ichthyology (Ref. 40914).
