Biologi     Ordlista (t.ex. epibenthic)

Recorded from rivers and coastal creeks of low to moderate current velocity. Generally occurs near shorelines among grasses or undergrowth. Sometimes found in tidelands near stream outlets; in rivers it reaches 20 m elevation. Food consists of small aquatic insects (Ref. 36880). Probably reaching 19-20 cm SL. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 9-10 cm SL.

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.6250   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00037 (0.00016 - 0.00085), b=3.18 (2.99 - 3.37), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisk nivå (Ref. 69278):  3.4   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resiliens (Ref. 120179):  Hög, lägsta populationsfördubblingstid mindre än 15 månader (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (13 of 100).
