Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 11; Radios blandos anales: 8. Distinguished from other species of the genus by the combination of the following characters: lateral length of head 19-22% SL (23-25% in B. mysorensis), caudal peduncle 1.9-2.8 times longer than deep (3.0-4.2 times in B. burmanica and B. brucei). Distinguished from B. annamitica by its color pattern consisting of somewhat irregular blotches on the back (versus circular in B. annamitica) (Ref. 37826). With 9-10 unbranched pectoral-fin rays (Ref. 12693).
Inhabits high gradient streams. Feed on benthic insects, small amounts of phytoplankton and periphyton.
