الأشواك الظهرية (المجموع) : 5 - 7; الأشعة الظهرية الناعمة (المجموع) : 8 - 11; شوكة شرجية: 1; أشعه شرجية لينه: 10 - 12. Anus set between tips of pelvic fins, just below origin of dorsal fin, Lower jaw highly elevated posteriorly. Attains 10 cm SL.

Forms schools near the surface of inshore waters. Feeds on zooplankton. Not a tasty food fish.
