背棘 (总数) : 11; 背的软条 (总数) : 14 - 15; 臀棘: 4; 臀鳍软条: 11 - 13. Deep orange with white-tipped dorsal fin spines and dusky caudal fin tips. Small rare species, but easily mistaken for Myripristis vittata (Ref. 48635).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: compressed.
