背棘 (總數) : 11; 臀鰭軟條: 8; 脊椎骨: 34. Garra cornigera is distinguished from other species of Garra in the Chindwin-Irrawaddy drainage, except G. bispinosa, in having a bilobed proboscis (vs. unilobed in G. litanensis, G. rotundinasus and G. qiaojiensis; or incipient in G. elongata and G. gravelyi). It differs from G. bispinosa in having fewer lateral line scales (33 vs. 34-35), fewer circumpeduncular scales (14 vs. 16), fewer transverse scale rows above and more below lateral line scales (3 1/2 vs. 4 and 3 1/2 vs. 2 1/2-3) (Ref. 117240).
Occurs in medium to fast flowing clear hill stream with gravel bottom and lush green algal bloom (Ref. 117240).
