Short description Chiavi di identificazione | Morfologia | Morfometria

Spine dorsali (totale) : 2; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 6; Raggi anali molli: 8; Vertebre: 46 - 47. Distinguished with the following three apomorphic anatomical complexes: 1.) mouth ventral and transverse, supported by reoriented, much expanded premaxillae and foreshortened mandibles; premaxillae and dentaries densely covered with robust, needle-like teeth arranged in a steeply-descending, antero-posterior size series. 2.) lateral margins of orbit and otic region elevated with textured ridges developed from the frontal, sphenotic and pterotic bones surrounding the supraorbital, otic and postotic lateralis sensory canals. 3.) Interorbital septum severely compressed as thin, apparently median, bony sheet. Among Pimelodidae, it shares apomorphic features, placing it near the diverse Calophysus-Pimelodus clade (Ref. 83450).

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Collected from large rivers with swift currents and bedrock to boulder-strewn substrates (Ref. 83450).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 1.0000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00708 (0.00281 - 0.01786), b=3.09 (2.87 - 3.31), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.7   ±0.7 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
