Etymology: Pseudoscopelus: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, skopelos = a lantern fish (Ref. 45335). Lavenberg, for his contribution to the knowledge of the genus Pseudoscopelus.
Eponymy: Dr Robert ‘Bob’ John Lavenberg was Curator of Ichthyology at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and is now Emeritus Curator. [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
