An estuarine species reported from muddy brackish creek on the Atlantic versant of Panama in the Canal zone. Those collected from Tortuguero Lagoon estuary were from open shallow bays, 0.6 m or less in depth, with bottom varying from open to having filamentous algae and some submerged and floating vegetation, and from narrow shorelines (steep slope and few shallows) with much emergent, submerged and floating vegetation (Ref. 57711).
