Etymology: Lycenchelys: Greek, lykos = wolf + Greek, enchelys, -yos = eel (Ref. 45335); parini: Named in honor of Nikolay Vasil'evich Parin, investigator of the fishes of the epipelagic zone and the great depths of the World Ocean, one of the founders of a new branch of science, oceanic ichthyology.
