Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt) : 16 - 26; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 17 - 25; Wirbelzahl: 27 - 29. Can be diagnosed from other species of the Austrolebias alexandri group by the following combination of characters: posterior margin of each pectoral fin in male reaching a vertical between base of second and fifth anal-fin rays (vs. between urogenital papilla and base of second anal-fin ray); origin of dorsal fin either on vertical through anal-fin origin or posterior to it (vs. anterior); and presence of vertical rows of light blue dots on entire flank in larger males (vs. light blue bars) (Ref. 57613).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01995 (0.00906 - 0.04395), b=3.01 (2.83 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.2   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Widerstandsfähigkeit (Ref. 120179):  hoch, Verdopplung der Population dauert weniger als 15 Monate. (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
