背棘 (總數) : 26 - 30. Differs from all other mastacembelids found in Myanmar and Thailand in having body with a series of very regular, oblique, dark bars, each with a narrow extension extending partially or entirely across abdomen, and having ripe females with a very elongate genital papillae (Ref. 39392).
有別於發現於緬甸的所有其他的 mastacembelids ，而且泰國有身體有一系列的非常規則的﹐斜的﹐和深色的橫帶, 每個具有狹窄的延長越過腹部部份地或者完全地延伸, 而且讓成熟的雌性具有一個非常長的生殖乳突.(參考文獻 39392)
Occurs in streams to peats (Ref. 57235). Found in medium to large-sized rivers and flooded fields (Ref. 12975). Nocturnal, feeding on invertebrates and small fishes (Ref. 13371). Commonly seen in aquarium trades and fish markets (Ref. 57235).
