पृष्ठीय रीढ़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 0; पृष्ठीय सौफट रेज़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 10 - 11; गुदा कांटा: 0; ऐनल सौफट रेज़: 4 - 5. Olive pink or green to brown, red, yellow or lilac, with or without stripes, spots or bars. Breeding males with pinkish dorsal saddle. Distinguished from other clingfishes by the large, rounded head with incisorform teeth and a large, blunt posteriorly projecting spine at the lower margin of the operculum.
