背棘 (總數) : 0; 背的軟條 (總數) : 89 - 99; 臀棘: 0; 臀鰭軟條: 69 - 79. Similar to P. gigantea but differs from it by a small mouth (3.3.to 3.9 times in head length), few scales on the lateral line, few pectoral rays, and pale snout and jaws.
類似 P. gigantea 但是不同之處為一個小的嘴 (3.3. 到 3.9 倍頭長) ，鱗片較少在側線，少數胸鰭鰭條與灰白的吻與顎。
Inhabits sandy mud bottoms (Ref. 11230).
棲息於沙泥底。 (參考文獻 11230)
