Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 102 - 106; Raggi anali molli: 86 - 87; Vertebre: 58 - 60. Developed gill raker 10-12. Head and body covered with scales. Operculum with a sharp strong spine and preoperculum with 2 spinules at the lower angle (Ref. 43544).
Common species (Ref. 34024). Reproductive strategy possibly similar to other members of this family featuring oviparity, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205). Found in markets (Ref. 34024).
