Diagnosis: clearly prognathous lower jaw; 10-12 gill-rakers on lower part of outer arch (Ref. 55954).
Occurs in shallow water (Ref. 5595, 55954) and prefers sandy bottoms, also with vegetation (Ref. 5595). Feeds on small fishes and invertebrates (Ref. 5595).
