背面の脊椎 (合計) : 10; 背鰭 (合計) : 28 - 31; 肛門の骨: 2; 臀鰭: 7; 脊つい: 25. Swim bladder hammer-shaped with a series of arborescent appendages along its sides. Lower jaw with a row of enlarged teeth. Jaws short. Last pleural rib on the 11th vertebra.
Found in muddy and sandy-muddy bottoms (Ref. 43239).
