Diagnosis: strongly curved, crescent-shaped mouth; minute, sometimes almost imperceptible, barbel at either side of mouth; last unbranched dorsal fin ray heavily ossified and inflexible; pelvic fin inserts below middle of dorsal fin; 31 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).
Maximum TL recorded: 18.0 cm (Ref. 2801).
