Distribution:  North America: Known only from one small stream each in the Cumberland River drainage (Little South Fork, Kentucky) and Tennessee River drainage (Paint Rock River, Alabama), USA.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 7-7. A slender, cylindrical, straw-colored minnow distinguished by a broad depigmented supralateral stripe along side bordered ventrally by narrow, black midlateral stripe and dorsally by darkly pigmented dorsal scale margins; predorsal stripe wanting or obsolescent; and postdorsal stripe absent (Ref. 31523). No breeding colors (Ref. 31523). Breeding male pectoral fin with shagreen-like tubercle arrangement (Ref. 31523).
Biology:  Inhabits clean, clear waters of flowing pools and runs (Ref. 31523). Found over bottoms with fractured bedrock, cobble, and gravel mixed with clear sand (Ref. 31523). Reaches a maximum length of less than 6 cm SL (Ref. 31523).
