A slender, cylindrical, straw-colored minnow distinguished by a broad depigmented supralateral stripe along side bordered ventrally by narrow, black midlateral stripe and dorsally by darkly pigmented dorsal scale margins; predorsal stripe wanting or obsolescent; and postdorsal stripe absent (Ref. 31523). No breeding colors (Ref. 31523). Breeding male pectoral fin with shagreen-like tubercle arrangement (Ref. 31523).
Inhabits clean, clear waters of flowing pools and runs (Ref. 31523). Found over bottoms with fractured bedrock, cobble, and gravel mixed with clear sand (Ref. 31523). Reaches a maximum length of less than 6 cm SL (Ref. 31523).
