Vertebre: 183. This species is distinguished by the following characters: depth 43 times and tail 1.8 in TL; minute pectoral fin, its length about twice in eye; total vertebra 183, mean vertebral formula 3/77.5/183; body overlain with 50-55 brown rings and saddles, separated by white interspaces
which are narrower than the darker rings (Ref. 89079).
Found in mixed rubble and sand and small coral formations. Encoundtered in the open, swimming slowly, apparently in search for prey, probably small fishes or crustaceans (Ref. 89079, 90102).
