Marine; bathypelagic; depth range 0 - 3182 m (Ref. 26165). Deep-water; 35°N - 39°S, 180°W - 180°E
Circumglobal in tropical and subtropical waters (Ref. 41299). Eastern Atlantic: Mauritania south to Angola. Also across the Atlantic between 0 and 20°N, extending to 35°N and 39°S in the western part (USA to Argentina). South China Sea, East China Sea and waters near to Taiwan (Ref.74511).
