Africa: known only from the type locality: Alto Cuilo, Kwilu/Cuilo River (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin) in Angola (Ref. 11970). Reported from the upper Zambezi in Zambia by R.A. Jubb, but specimens not verified (Ref. 11970); presence in the upper Zambezi unconfirmed in Ref. 120641.
