Pomacentridae (Damselfishes) > Chrominae
Etymology: Chromis: Greek, chromis = a fish, perhaps a perch (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Pamela J McCosker is the wife of the second author. She was compared with the fish, which was described as a “…slender specimen of comparable beauty.” (Ref. 128868), visit book page.

Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecology
Marine; reef-associated; depth range 4 - 44 m (Ref. 10668). Tropical; 23°S - 25°S
Eastern Central Pacific: Pitcairn, Tuamoto Islands, and Austral Islands.
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 10.4 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 10668)
Adults feed on zooplankton well above the substratum. They swim swiftly for cover from predators. The fleshy papillae at the posterior and ventral edge of the orbit may function to ensure smooth flow of water over the eye when swimming rapidly (Ref. 10668). Feeds on zooplanktons (Ref. 89972). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205). Diurnal species (Ref. 54980).
