The species Aphyosemion nigrifluvi Romand, 1982 is considered valid in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Mar. 2012: Ref. 89686). It is treated here a synonym of Scriptaphyosemion guignardi (Romand, 1981) following Wildekamp (1993: Ref. 47461) and Wildekamp & van der Zee (2003: Ref. 57261).
