Dorsal spines (total): 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7. This slender species is distinguished by the following characters: with a narrow lacrimale (the height is four times less than the diameter of the eye), the posterior edge is strongly oblique, so that the line passing along it crosses the dorsal edge of the body behind the vertical of the beginning of D; eye large, one third of its diameter extending below the line drawn from the top of the snout to the superior edge of the base of pectoral; slightly elongated upper lobe of caudal and short filament of pelvic, first arch with nine gill rakers; narrow scaleless edge of the praeoperculum, 2.7 times as wide as the scaled part (Ref. 130196).
