Dorsal spines (total): 16 - 17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 10; Anal spines: 7 - 8; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8; Vertebrae: 26 - 28. This species is similar to A. scitulus, but differs in having a lower dorsal 16 (vs.17) and anal 7 (vs. 8-9) fin spine counts; it has a higher dorsal ray count 10 (vs. 9); a shorter head; a larger interorbital distance; and lacks the diagnostic blotches on head and body which is usually present in A. scitulus (Ref. 74689).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01380 (0.00659 - 0.02894), b=3.07 (2.89 - 3.25), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.2   ±0.6 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Assuming Fec<1000).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
