Etymology: Cirrhimuraena: Latin, cirrus = curl fringe + latin, muraena = morey eel (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Dr Oliver Peebles Jenkins (1850–1935) worked with Alvin Seale at Stanford University. The patronym is not identified in Seale’s text, but almost certainly honours this man. (See Jenkins, OP) (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
