Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 20; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 17; Vertebrae: 26. No dermal flap or small tentacle dorsally on eye. A large pore in midinterorbital space close to the edge of the orbit; a smaller median pore posteriorly in interorbital space. Tubular anterior nostril when laid back not reaching posterior nostril; when extended forward, near front of snout and moderately long, though not reaching front edge of upper lip. .A single, incomplete lateral line. Longitudinal scale series about 48.
Described from a single specimen taken off Annobon, Gulf of Guinea, West Africa (Ref. 27020).
