Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics
Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal soft rays: 10; Vertebrae: 29 - 30. Distinguished from all its congeners by the following characters: membranous hook of the gonopodium ray 3 weakly developed and distally faintly bent; subdistal plate-like membranous process on gonopodium ray 3 faintly developed; distal spines of gonopodium ray 3 long and densely crowded; tip of gonopodium ray 4p reaching the tip of the membranous hook. Can be diagnosed also by having the following unique combination of characters: gonopodium length short; frequency distribution of SL/GL radius (standandard length/gonopodium length radius) 3.30 - 3.60; 11- 12 gill rakers; and 8-9 rays on the dorsal fin (Ref. 87322).
