Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 8. Jaws of about equal length in front; maxilla reaching below anterior margin of orbit; 2/3rd suborbital half as wide as uncovered part of cheek below; dorsal midway between anterior margin of orbit and caudal base; 4-6 outer pectoral rays strong; about seven rows of scales between lateral line and base of pelvic fin; predorsal scales 25 scales; about 13 bluish spots along side of back; about 12 incomplete bars go from back downwards towards lateral line; and a dark bar along upper 3rd of dorsal fin (Ref. 93114).
Found in rivers and streams (Ref. 4832). Collected in large river with diverse substrate consisting of sand, mud, gravel, pebble, cobble, and boulders (Ref. 85713).
