Diagnosis: This species is distinguished from its congener Luciobarbus nasus by the combination of following characters: a more rounded snout, although relatively elongated; a wider interorbital space; the ossified ray of the dorsal fin is shorter and weaker; and a shorter pectoral fin.
Found in fast mountain rivers with current (Ref. 114101).
