Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

A voracious species. Inhabits calm waters. In nature, it feeds mainly on zooplankton but it also consume plants, worms, insects and crustaceans (Ref. 7020). An adult female produces around 2,000 eggs which is incubated for a period of 50 to 70 hours. After the third day, the fish search actively for food (Ref. 12225).

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5312   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01047 (0.00593 - 0.01849), b=3.08 (2.93 - 3.23), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & (Sub)family-body (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.36 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity. Fec=1000).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
