Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Occurs among stones and shingle over the river bed (Ref. 4903, 104773), and in similar places on wave-washed rocky shores of the lake (Ref. 4903, 104734). Preference for rocky or stony substrates, where they hide among the rocks (Ref. 78218). Feeds mainly on lithophilic insects (Ref. 12526, 104773), plants and Copepoda (Ref. 12526), but shows great adaptability in diet (Ref. 12526). Nothing is known about spawning and reproduction (Ref. 78218).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00759 (0.00343 - 0.01679), b=2.96 (2.78 - 3.14), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.5   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
