Diagnosis: This species is distinguished from its congeners by the combination of following characters: 44-46 scales in lateral line, 9.5 scales above lateral line; width of the last single ray of the dorsal fin more than 10% of its height; denticulations of the last single ray of the dorsal fin sparsely serrated, 20-21 denticulations in adults; weak pharyngeal teeth; a narrow lachrymal manubrium; a narrow ethmoid bone; a narrow kinethmoid bone; and caudal peduncle is short and high, anal peduncle length is less than 2 times the body least depth (Ref. 107618).
Found in rivers (Ref. 2801).
