Occurs in calm and weedy parts of rivers, lakes, swamps and brooks. 10 cm max TL (Ref. 3788). Feeds on worms, crustaceans, insects and fish (Ref. 7020). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139). Aquarium keeping: minimum aquarium size 80 cm (Ref. 51539).
