Dorsal spines (total): 6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14 - 15; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 13 - 14. Brown in color; 1st dorsal fin dark; front of 2nd dorsal and anal fins pale, back part dark; caudal fin pale; pectoral fins light to dusky, with dark bar; pelvic fins black (Ref. 2798). Eyes small (Ref. 1602); characterized further by separated pelvic fins; completely absent scales on head and body; second dorsal and anal fins without spines; depth of body 4.5-4.9 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Lives among coral rubble.
