Etymology: Coryphopterus: Greek, koryphe = summit + Greek, pteron = fin, wing (Ref. 45335); curasub: 'curasub', i.e., named after the manned submersible, Curasub (Ref. 103699).
Eponymy: Not an eponym but named for the manned submersible ‘Curasub’, which collected the type. It is owned and operated by Substation Curaçao and was honoured “…for its contributions to increasing our knowledge of the Caribbean deep-reef fish fauna.” (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
