Feed on algae, barnacle nauplii, copepods, fish eggs, and small gastropods. Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
