Caught mostly in cofferdams at the construction sites of the hydroelectric power plants of Santo Antônio and Jirau (former Santo Antônio and Jirau rapids) in rio Madeira. Most specimens were collected at depths of 3.1-11 m and 4.1 to 8.5 m using trawl nets, indicating preference for deep-water habitats with strong current (Ref. 104707).
