Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 13; Anal soft rays: 13 - 14; Vertebrae: 33 - 34. Rhodeus albomarginatus is distinguished from congeners by its unique white margin on the anal fin in adult males (vs. black margin). It also differs from other congeners by having 10 branched rays on dorsal fin, 10-11 branched rays on anal fin, i,6 pelvic-fin rays, 33-34 vertebrae (mode 33), and in adult males, iris black, belly reddish-orange and central part of caudal fin red (Ref. 95613).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

The type locality is a hill stream with bottom consisting of mud mixed with stones, low water level, and depth mostly less than 100 cm. Collected from the upper portion of the stream. Spawns in summer from June to August, several times during the spawning periods, and usually releases 10-20 eggs at one time. Lives in host mussel Ptychorhynchus murinum (Ref. 95613).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01660 (0.00682 - 0.04038), b=3.03 (2.82 - 3.24), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.7   ±0.2 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
