Etymology: Trimma: Greek, trimma, -atos = something crushed (Ref. 45335); hotsarihiense: Named for the local name for Helen Reef (an old spelling), 'Hotsarihie’, a Tobian word meaning 'reef of the giant clams’, in appreciation of the support of the Helen Reef Resource Management Project (HRRMP) and the friendliness and the people of Tobi.
