Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8 - 9. Preserved body whitish with 3 broad, brown crossbars dorsally, running diagonally forward downward to the belly; a wide brown blotch or crossband in front of first dorsal, above pectoral base. A series of brown or black reticulations on lower half of body behind pectoral; between all these bands, the body is sprinkled with minute brown specks, leaving the ground color as a series of white spots and dots. Large oblique mouth terminal.
Found in shallow bays and river mouths (Ref. 439). Lotic freshwater, torrent dweller, benthic, sand bottom; buries in sand (Ref. 75154).
