Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 5; Anal soft rays: 8 - 11; Vertebrae: 40 - 41. Dorsal to adipose distance (7.7-8.7% SL); short snout (length 31.4-38.4% HL). Long and deep head (head length 23.2-26.9% SL; head depth 12.7-14.3% SL); and short snout (snout length 31.4-38.4% HL). Body depth at anus 10.9-12.8% SL; caudal peduncle depth 4.7-5.3% SL. Slender humeral process (maximum width 10-11.8% its length). Angular anterior margin of the anal fin and angular posterior margin of adipose fin. Male genital papilla long and slender. Branchiostegal rays 6. A variegated color pattern with numerous brown patches (Ref. 37794).
