Etymology: Dipturus: Greek, di = two + Greek, pteryx = fin (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: These fish are named after the US National Marine Fisheries Service research vessel ‘Oregon’, from which the holotypes were collected. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.

Found on upper and mid-continental slope (Ref. 114953). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Biology little known. Males reaches maturity by ca. 107cm TL (Ref. 114953).
