Head spines strong - nasal, preocular, postocular, tympanic and parietal spines present, supraocular, coronal, and nuchal spines absent (Ref. 27437). Caudal truncate or slightly rounded (Ref. 6885). Light brown tinged in red, distinctly lighter below; 4 dark blotches along base of dorsal fin, dark pigment extends from back onto fin, may be vague; brownish red stripe on lateral line (Ref. 27437).
