Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 8. A member of the group of species with complete or nearly complete lateral line, 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays, 9+8 branched caudal rays and no sexual dimorphism. Its small eyes (2.4-3.4% SL, 13-18% HL, 2.5-3.0 times in interorbital width) and its peculiar color pattern consisting in 13-18 thin irregularly set bars distinguish it from any other species. Emarginate caudal fin (Ref. 39226).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00692 (0.00310 - 0.01545), b=3.02 (2.85 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
