Diagnosis

Lateral line straight (Ref. 27547). Pelvic fins with small axillary process; caudal slightly indented (Ref. 27547). Deep velvet black on back and sides, paler below; small bright red spots on back and sides, spots smallest and most numerous on back; largest spots smaller than pupil of eye; some or all spots may be surrounded by a blue to pale halo; leading edges of dorsal, anal and pelvic fins cream to yellow; all rayed fins dark, without spots or marks; adipose fin paler than rayed fins, with a dark posterior margin (Ref. 27547).
