Description: Characterized by male having orange red upper head and adjacent anterodorsal body, grading to pinkish posteriorly and white ventrally, yellow to red orange wavy partially broken stripes on side, prominent red spot between seventh and tenth dorsal spine, caudal fin with red posterior margin; female with plain pinkish orange color grading to white below with orange band from lower eye to base of pectoral fin; fleshy protuberance at front of upper lip absent in male; prolonged third dorsal spine of male; lunate to emarginate caudal fin with short filamentous tips in male (Ref. 90102). |
