Description: Characterized by the following: red to silvery color; pectoral fins bright yellow; black spot at base of pelvic fins; soft portion of dorsal fin slightly taller than spinous portion, rounded posteriorly; truncate to very slightly emarginate caudal fin; poorly developed preopercular spine, inconspicuous in adult (Ref. 90102).
